Important Dates

  • Online only registration deadline, midnight Sunday, May 4

  • Art drop-off, Tuesday, May 6 & Wednesday May 7, 4:00-7:00 PM

  • Exhibition May 10-June 8

  • Judges results post on QAA website May12 by midnight

  • Awards Presentation, Sunday, May 17, 3:00 PM

  • Art pick-up June 8, 5:00 - 6:30 PM. Please arrange for someone to pick up your entries if you cannot. A $10 per day storage fee will apply to any unclaimed work. 

 

Members Show

Categories

               Oil & Acrylic | Watercolor | Drawing & Pastel | Mixed Media, Collage, & Printmaking | Sculpture & Clay

               Size not larger than 18”x24”. Space is limited to 50 entries. Three entries max. per person

Awards:

               $75 First Place, $50 Second Place, and Honorable Mention Ribbons.

               In categories with fewer than 25 entries, 1st Place award only is awarded.

               QAA members $12 per entry.

 

Juried Show

Categories

               Oil & Acrylic | Watercolor | Drawing & Pastel | Mixed Media, Collage, & Printmaking | Sculpture & Clay

               Size no larger than 36” in either direction, not including the frame.

Awards:

               $100 First Place, $75 Second Place, and Honorable Mention Ribbons.

               In categories with fewer than 25 entries, 1st Place award only is awarded.

               QAA members $12 per entry, non-members $16 per entry. Three entries max.

 

Photography Juried Show - Black and white, Color, and Digital.

               Size no larger than 36” in either direction, not including the frame.

Awards:

               $100 First Place, $75 Second Place, and Honorable Mention Ribbons.

               Fewer than 25 entries, 1st Place award only is awarded.

               QAA members $12 per entry, non-members $16 per entry. Three entries max.

 

Special Themed Category-Celebrate Quincy (not eligible for Best of Show)

               Size no larger than 36” in either direction, not including the frame.

               All mediums. Quincy landmarks, landscapes, seascapes, attractions, community life.

Award:  

               $200 First Place and Honorable Mention Ribbons.

               QAA members $12, non-members $16. One entry only.

  • $100.00 Janet Burke Mann Foundation

  • $200.00 QAA Memorial Award in memory of Kelly Cobble

Guidelines

  • You may register just one entry, or up to the maximum in any or all the shows.

  • Entries must be original and not previously exhibited in ArtsFest. Absolutely no wet paint.

  • Entries must be framed or 1” deep gallery wrapped canvas. Must be wired, and ready to hang.

  • Photography on metal must be wired and ready to hang. All other photography and works on paper must be framed under glass or plexiglass.

  • All framed work must be of a solid, professional nature. Worn, scarred or damaged frames are not acceptable. No sawtooth hangers (single or double), no single loop tab type hangers, no photography style frames with “kick- stand” supports, no “snap-in” glass frames.

  • Each entry must be labeled on the front and back with show name, entry title, medium, and price, name, address, phone number, and email. Labels provided upon registration.

  • All work must be for sale, no exceptions. Artwork may be removed from the exhibition if purchased.

  • QAA will deduct 30% commission on sales. Payments to artists for work sold will be made by June 24.

  • QAA reserves the right to not exhibit entries delivered incorrectly framed or deemed inappropriate for family-friendly viewing.

  • Space is limited and not all entries are guaranteed to be shown. 

  • Entry fees are not refundable.

Gallery Hours: Sat. & Sun. Noon-5PM. Pop-up hours may occur Thursday and Friday, 2-5 PM depending on volunteer availability. The QArts Gallery is managed and operated by volunteer members of the Quincy Art Association.

 

Parking Options

  • Metered parking on the street

  • Paid parking in the President’s Parking Lot located on Seville Ave. From either direction, look for the National Park Visitors Center on the corner of Hancock St. & Seville Ave. to park. The QArts Gallery is directly across the street from the National Park Visitors Center and Quincy College.

  • Weekends: Free parking behind the QArts Gallery in the MBTA lot. From either direction look for Starbuck’s at the end of our block on Hancock St. At that traffic light turn into the MBTA entrance and parking lot. You will need to walk around to the gallery’s front entrance on Hancock St.
